This group has worked closely with the City of Pearland and the Pearland Park and Recreation Department for over ten years and marked this occasion with an original Pear Shaped tray designed and made by Artist Samantha Jowers, PISD art instructor. Artists and PAL Directors Margo Green and Denise Claiva presented the first PEAR FAIR art show in the elegant suites of Residences of Pearland Town Center Mall. Allegria Wine Bar sponsored the art show, serving gourmet delights by caterer and owner Suzanne Streetman. Pear Tea was served by Cindy Sosebee, owner of Four Friends Tea Room of Pearland. The brew was made especially for PEAR FAIR 2013. Presenting the tray is PAL President Naomi Stevens and the full board of directors of the Pearland Arts League.

Corks and Canvas Funding
The Pearland Arts League gratefully acknowledges the Cultural Arts funding grant awarded to the League beginning August 2012-August 2013 for providing their ongoing support of the Corks and Canvas monthly art exhibition events held at the Pearland Parks and Recreation building 2nd floor gallery space at 4141 Bailey Road. This $5,000 grant enabled the Pearland Arts League to continue bringing the arts to the forefront within the city of Pearland.
Pear Fair Funding
The Pearland Arts League gratefully acknowledges the support of the city of Pearland in awarding the $5,000 grant award for 2013 for the June 8th, 2013 "Pear Fair" event held at the Pearland Town Center Mall Pavilion This cultural arts, day long event, featured, music, theater, art exhibition, children's events, food and fun. Part of the money raised by the city through a tax collected by the hotel/motel industry within the city of Pearland provides for promotion of the cultural arts in Pearland. Without this cultural arts fund, Pearland Arts League would not be able to continue providing the much needed arts venues for the residents of Pearland and residents of surrounding communities. Pearland Arts League extends a heartfelt thanks to the city of Pearland.
The Pearland Arts League (PAL) began as a ‘brain-storming’ session in October 2003, initiated by Pearland Mayor Tom Reid among a diverse group of Pearland-area residents, brought together by a shared interested in promoting fine arts within the community.
The group’s purpose centers on incorporating the artistic talents of local residents under one community umbrella. Governed by an elected board, the PAL structure is a self-governing, community-directed non-profit entity with membership open to everyone in the Pearland area. Watch for PAL-sanctioned events showcasing talent around the city.
It is the PAL board’s sincere wish that every interested member of the community will have the opportunity to participate in the Pearland Arts League.
